In 2011, the University launched Wingara Mura-Bunga Barrabugu, our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander higher education strategy, to expand Aboriginal education, research and engagement to become part of the core activity of the University.
This year's summer programme will have 243 indigenous and Torres Strait islander students visiting campus for a week. FASS will host 73 Year 9-10 students at times during the week and will have 19 Year 11-12 students with us for the whole week (shared with the School of Law). Amongst the FASS-related activities arranged for the latter group are: an immersion in language-learning; a creative writing class; a specially-arranged visit to the State Gallery of NSW. Various staff members from right across the Faculty will be helping out in the various activities.
