Transition Symposium 2026: Strategies for first-year success

As part of the University’s commitment to inclusive and transformational education, this annual Division of Teaching and Learning event supports educators of first‑year students through a focus on transition pedagogies that enhance belonging, self‑efficacy and wellbeing.

Wellbeing support for colleagues affected by global events

Wellbeing support is available for all staff, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, through our staff counselling and coaching provider, Converge. Our Student Life teams are identifying any students who may be affected and are proactively contacting them to offer support from the University.

Viva Engage reopening postponed

The University is deeply committed to providing a safe and welcoming work and study environment and preserving academic freedom and free speech.

In the context of recent and ongoing legislative developments at the state and federal level, arising from the Bondi tragedy, we have decided to postpone the reopening of Viva Engage. This pause will allow us time to develop, socialise and implement some refinements to the platform's settings, particularly features that give colleagues greater choice and control over the kinds of posts they see.
