Am I entitled to paid parental leave if my fixed-term contract ends during pregnancy or after birth?

 You are entitled to a payment of up to 14 weeks salary if you are: 

  • at least 20 weeks pregnant at the time your contract expires; or
  • you have started your maternity leave. 

However, this entitlement will not apply if: 

  • you were offered another similar contract which you refused; or
  • it was made clear to you before starting the contract that it would not be extended.
