Aidan is a clinician, researcher and academic based in Sydney. He is a Paediatric Registrar at Sydney Children’s Hospital, with a Master of Medicine from the University of Sydney and a passion for evidence-based medicine in neonates, infants and children. He is a PhD candidate at the University of Sydney, with strong interests in public health, clinical epidemiology and meta-research. He leads international studies on research methods and clinical trials, and is a Board Member and the Treasurer for the Association for Interdisciplinary Meta-Research and Open Science, a not-for-profit organisation. He is an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Sydney, Conjoint Associate Lecturer at the University of New South Wales and Conjoint Associate Lecturer at Western Sydney University, with a long-standing interest in suicide intervention for adolescents and young people.

How to use the OTA Framework

The OTA Teaching Framework is an off-system empty excel spreadsheet, preformatted with formulas and dates. It is used to assist planning and documenting academic work allocations for a unit of study.

The Framework is filled in by Academic Decision Makers when they don’t directly enter allocations into OTA themselves.

When complete, the information in the spreadsheet is sent to the local OTA Allocator role to enter into the OTA tool.

Dr Lisa Vaccaro is Research Psychologist specialising in Health Psychology and Anxiety Disorders in clinically applied areas such as Psycho-oncology and Pain Management. Dr Vaccaro has expertise in both quantitative and qualitative study design and program management experience in multi-center RCTs. She has research experience in hospital and primary care settings. Most recently, she has been working as a Qualitative Research Associate with the Health Brain Aging Centre (Brain Mind Centre, University of Sydney) on a project collaborating with the Australian Dementia Network (ADNet), and funded by the Australian Department looking to improve detection, diagnosis and management of dementia in regional areas. Dr Vaccaro is particularly interested in the application of the best evidence-based research in areas such as the prevention of chronic disease, quality of life, coping with illness (and treatment), and conveying risk and information about health decisions to clinicians, patients and the wider community. In particular, she is interested in the development of novel interventions that are not only effective but also that are also accessible and acceptable to the people suffering with these conditions and that create a supportive environment for the translation of research into improvements in patient care.
