How to apply for Gender Affirmation (Transitioning) Leave

This article outlines how to apply for gender affirmation leave.

Staff are entitled to 30 days paid gender affirmation leave.  If you exhaust your gender affirmation leave you may access your personal leave entitlement to support you in your transition.

Gender affirmation (transitioning) means the personal process or processes a trans or gender diverse person determines is right for them in order to live as their defined gender, and so that society recognises this. Gender affirmation may involve social, medical and/or legal steps that affirm a person’s gender.

Refer to the diversity and inclusion intranet to find out about support for LGBTQIA+ staff and read the guide on workplace gender affirmation.
