Am I eligible for an academic promotion?

Update a staff member's business title

This process is used when the University wants to update a staff member’s business title. This process does not update the Position Title.

Staff and contingent workers do not have access to update their own business title in Workday.

How do I reduce the level of standard member contributions I contribute to UniSuper?

The default arrangement in UniSuper’s Defined Benefit Division/Accumulation 2 is for members to make 7% after-tax/8.25% before-tax standard member contributions from their superannuable salary.

Under the fund’s contribution flexibility arrangements, members can elect to reduce this level down to 0%, however it must be noted that this decision is irreversible, and members cannot reinstate previous levels of contributions once they have been reduced.

Can I claim overtime as time in lieu?

Yes. Overtime can be taken as time off in lieu rather than being paid.

How do I apply for Compassionate leave in Workday

Compassionate Leave is paid leave which can be used in the event of the death or serious illness of a member of your immediate family, household or kinship group. Compassionate leave may also be taken following the stillbirth or death of your infant.

A manager may also approve compassionate leave applications for the death or serious illness of other individuals on a case by case basis.

 

Can I submit an annual leave booking which results in a negative balance?

If you have exhausted your annual leave and wish to take a few more days annual leave, you may only submit an annual leave booking which results in up to a maximum 1 week negative annual leave balance.  This means there is a limit of 5 days (pro rata for part-time staff) that negative annual leave is allowed.

When can overtime be claimed?

Overtime can be claimed for work performed at the direction of an authorised supervisor and must be:

  • outside the professional staff member’s ordinary span of work hours; or
  • within that ordinary span of work hours, but outside the number of ordinary hours the staff member would work on a day (or is formally rostered to work on that day); or
  • on a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday.
