Childcare travel support payment is a one-time payment to a staff member. This can be requested via Workday. 

You may use this process to award the childcare travel support fund payment one-time payment to a staff member: 

A one-time payment to a staff or student member who meets the requirements detailed in the Childcare Travel Support Fund Guidelines. These payments are now coordinated by the school, faculty or professional service unit and is delivered in the following pay run following application and approval in Workday. They must be initiated by the Finance Manager of the school, faculty or professional service unit.

When is this process run? 

The process is run once per year, per staff member.

Close Positions for hiring in Workday

Managers and manager supports can initiate the Close Position process on an ad-hoc basis. This can be done on for unfilled positions.

This process permanently makes positions unavailable for hiring. Once the position is closed, the same position cannot be opened again.

Update my legal name in Workday

You can update your legal name directly through the Workday platform by following the steps outlined in the below guide.

Please note:

  • Changes to your legal or preferred name will automatically update across other University systems.
  • Legal name changes require supporting evidence. However, no evidence is needed to update your gender.
  • If you are updating your salutation (e.g., adding "Dr") and this change could impact your professional level or salary, you will be required to first provide a completed, conferred, and certified degree. This can be submitted for approval by following the steps in the Add and edit education listings / qualifications in Workday help article.

 

Managers must seek approval for a child-related program

To run a child-related program you must first seek approval from your Faculty or School General Manager, or Head of Administrative Area by submitting a business case.

Once approved, you will complete the WWC Program Registration form with details of your staff and volunteers engaged in the program so that HR can verify their WWCC clearances.

 

Refer to the staff intranet for guidance on identifying child-related work or activities. Your staff and volunteer/s must apply to the Office of the Children's Guardian for their working with children check (WWCC) clearance before they commence any child-related work or activities.

How do I create and share a learning path?

Learning paths allow you to curate a collection of courses from the catalogue. They can be used for your own learning and/or be shared with othersto the capability uplift across the university.

Examples of when you may wish to create a learning path include:

  • A list of specific modules aligned to your interest
  • A list of specific modules aligned to your goals
  • A Subject Matter Expert creating a specific list of modules to share on the intranet
  • A manager creating a path to share with their team to complete
