Pre-employment (or probity) checks are an important component of the recruitment and selection process at the University.  They validate the credentials and integrity of candidates in recruitment and selection decisions and reduce risk to the University. 

Depending on the type of role, the level of the role and/or financial delegation, a National Police Check may be required.



How to apply for Gender Affirmation (Transitioning) Leave

This article outlines how to apply for gender affirmation leave.   

Staff are entitled to 30 days paid gender affirmation leave.  If you exhaust your gender affirmation leave you may access your personal leave entitlement to support you in your transition. 

Gender affirmation (transitioning) means the personal process or processes a trans or gender diverse person determines is right for them in order to live as their defined gender, and so that society recognises this. Gender affirmation may involve social, medical and/or legal steps that affirm a person’s gender.

Request to set up a Workday Profile for a Consultant Contractor (engaged via Procurement process)

The below help article has been developed for Hiring Managers who wish to request Workday access for a Consultant Contractor that has been engaged through the Procurement process.  

Currently, consultant contractors do not automatically have a worker profile established in Workday.  

In cases where consultant contractors require University system access including delegation, to complete their role, please follow the below steps to request for the consultant to have a Workday profile established.

You may need to move an Instructor Led Classroom session to a Webinar. Enrolled learners will be notified of the webinar details when this change is made.

Webinars can not be changed to an Instructor Led Classroom session. In this scenario the offering must be cancelled and a new one created.

How do I extend my staff member's probation period?

Fixed term and continuing staff may be employed on a probationary basis. This means that a probation period is put in place when the staff member first commences employment at the University, to ensure that they understand the requirements of the role and have the opportunity to show that they can meet these, with any support and development needed.

How to report a hazard in the workplace

If you identify a hazard and it is within your control to rectify the problem, do so straight away and then report this to your manager or supervisor. If the situation is outside of your control to manage and action is required to ensure safety, follow the below steps.
