Yabun Festival 2025
Yabun Festival is the largest one-day gathering and recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures in Australia, held annually on 26 January.
Staff Welcome Breakfast 2025
Join the Vice-Chancellor and University Executive for a light, healthy breakfast on University Place, with coffee carts and drinks provided. Exercise classes, including Body Balance and Yoga, will be hosted in the Great Hall (registration required). Sustainability is a focus—bring your own cup, or use edible or gluten-free options.
Westmead Staff Welcome Breakfast
Join the Vice-Chancellor and University Executive for the Westmead Staff Welcome Breakfast, a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with colleagues after the holiday break. We invite you to the Innovation Centre on Level 5 to enjoy a healthy breakfast, tea, and coffee. The event will also feature an optional tour of the Clinical Simulation space.
Updates and services
Australia Day public holiday substitution (EA clause 227)
Eligible staff who do not wish to observe the Australia Day public holiday on Monday 27 January can request to substitute it with the working day before (24 January) or after (28 January). Requests should be submitted through Workday and approved by your manager.
Pay discrepancy in Boxing Day pay run
With local area budgets not confirmed for some areas until later than usual last year due to the uncertainty created by proposed government legislation, some staff were impacted by contract change processing delays that subsequently affected their pay. The majority of these underpayments have been resolved in the 9 January pay run, however, if you have any questions or concerns about your pay, please raise a query in the Services Portal.
Our licence with the online portal Studiosity has ended
The Learning Hub is exploring innovative new tools and software to support the academic development of students. Colleagues can refer students to the Learning Hub for one-on-one support, workshops and other resources to help build their academic writing and mathematics skills.
