50 Years of Deadly NAIDOC Week panel
This special panel event is open to all staff, students, and our wider community. Lunch will be provided at the Gadigal Centre after the panel, and all attendees are invited to stay, enjoy lunch and network among colleagues.
NAIDOC Week community lunch – 50 Years of Deadly
Open to all, this catered community lunch offers an opportunity to reflect on the stories of the Elders who stood firm, and to recognise how far we've come.
NAIDOC Week cultural tours with Uncle Jimmy Smith
Join Aboriginal Knowledge Holder Uncle Jimmy Smith, a proud Wiradjuri man, on a cultural tour around our local community. The tour covers the Aboriginal cultural heritage that exists at the University of Sydney Camperdown campus.
2026 Sydney Teaching Symposium
Available on campus and Zoom, this event highlights student-centred approaches to teaching and assessment from colleagues across the University. Andrea Strachan, our new Pro Vice-Chancellor (Students), will give the keynote on a wellbeing-first approach to student engagement.
Updates and services
Student Centre in the Jane Foss Russell Building reopening Wednesday 1 July
From this date, the temporary Student Centre location in the Belinda Hutchinson Building will close, and Student Centre services will return to normal operations from the Jane Foss Russell Building and Fisher Library.
Superannuation contributions are now being paid in line with each fortnightly pay cycle
This will be done within 7 business days of each payday to align with new Payday Super legislation, effective 1 July 2026.
Simplified process for fixed term staff applying for conversion to continuing or funding contingent on continuing employment
The form, as well as further information and details regarding eligibility, can be found on the Varying or ending fixed-term employment intranet page.
Scheduled change to increase security
To strengthen the University’s security posture, a network upgrade has been scheduled for Sunday 5 July, between 4 am and 8 am. We anticipate three outages across all campuses during this period, each lasting no longer than five minutes. This outage will not affect the University's public web page nor internet presence.
