Work Allocation and Timesheet Guidelines for Casual Academic Staff

To ensure consistency in the engagement and payment of casual academic staff in accordance with the University of Sydney Enterprise Agreement 2023-2026 (Enterprise Agreement), the following business guidelines have been summarised for managers (including staff allocating work to casual academic employees and approving timesheets) and casual academic staff members (including those employed on a sessional basis).

It is important that the following guidelines are carefully reviewed and implemented as soon as possible by every Faculty and School. As the engagement of casual academic staff occurs across the University, it is essential that we have a consistent understanding, and approach to managing our casual academic workforce to ensure we comply with our obligations under the Enterprise Agreement.
