The purpose of the exit survey is to assist the University to better understand the employee experience to help shape future initiatives in an effort to make the University of Sydney a great place to work.

How do part-time employees claim additional hours?

Part time employees are not required to submit rostered hours worked into the myHRonline system, however there may be instances where additional hours are required to be claimed that are on top of usual rostered hours.  

Can personal leave be used to attend a medical appointment?

Where there is a requirement to attend a medical appointment during working hours, you may apply for personal leave to cover the time needed to attend the appointment. 

Are casual staff entitled to payment for Jury Duty?

Jury duty, also known as jury service, is a type of community service leave. Employees including casual staff can attend jury selection and jury duty.

When do employees require a visa?

If a staff member is not an Australian citizen or permanent resident of Australia, they require a visa with a right to work.

How do I access information from my staff file?

To obtain a copy of information that is stored in your staff personnel file, complete the Application for access to staff file by following the steps below.

Apply for an internal role

Staff can apply for internally advertised roles from the Workday application.

When is the deadline to submit timesheets?

The cut off time for timesheets to be both submitted and approved before the close of the pay period is 4pm on the Thursday before the payday.

Are child care expenses tax deductible?

Child care deductions are not catered for by the University's payroll system, whether tax deductible or not.

How do I complete a digital course I have started?

Use this process to find digital courses that you have started and need to relaunch and complete.

This is not applicable to classroom or virtual classroom courses. You will not have the option to continue with saved learning for a webinar or face to face offering. These are marked complete by a learning administrator.

You may need to move an Instructor Led Classroom session to a Webinar. Enrolled learners will be notified of the webinar details when this change is made.

Important!

Webinars can not be changed to an Instructor Led Classroom session. In this scenario the offering must be cancelled and a new one created.

Apply for long service leave at half pay
