Dalyell Stream Advisory Group (DSAG)

A Dalyell Stream Advisory Group (DSAG) was established in 2023. 

The Advisory Group will assist the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) and the Academic Board to oversee academic and student experience aspects of the Dalyell stream in all degrees in which it is offered. With a membership that includes all of the Dalyell Faculty Leads, the group will assist to maintain the University-wide Dalyell reputation by ensuring cross-faculty coordination, oversight, and quality reporting on the stream. 

The group has a predominantly academic focus, such as advising on what is included in Table D and the Dalyell stream enrichment unit list, and will recommend decisions regarding Dalyell stream student experience and operational matters to the Dalyell Scholars Student Liaison Committee and/or to relevant faculties or professional service units within the Education and Operations portfolios.

The Advisory Group will assist the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and the Academic Board to oversee the Dalyell stream in all degrees in which it is offered by:

  • Maintaining the University-wide Dalyell reputation by ensuring cross-faculty coordination, oversight, and quality reporting on the stream.
  • Oversight of academic and student experience aspects of the Dalyell stream including:

a) Advising the Academic Board and its committees on the curricular composition of the Dalyell stream. This includes Dalyell units of study in the shared pool (Table D) by monitoring and advising on the strategic fit of individual units of study and on the balance of the offering, in keeping with the interdisciplinary intention of the stream and the aim of developing the graduate qualities to a high level in Dalyell scholars.

b) Monitoring the curricular enrichment opportunities available within the Dalyell stream including but not limited to: early access to 3000 and 4000 level units, projects and placements and global mobility experiences.

c) Recommending decisions regarding Dalyell stream operational and student experience matters to the Dalyell Scholars Student Liaison Committee and/or to relevant professional service units within the Operations portfolio.
