The annual Student Experience Survey (SES) is an important measure of how well we’re translating our aspiration to deliver transformational student-centred education into reality.
The SES is open to first-year undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students who have completed at least one Unit of Study and all final-year undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students.
In 2025, we're running a University-wide campaign to raise awareness of the value of student feedback and how students can have their say through the survey.
To maximise student participation in the SES, faculties and schools are encouraged to promote the survey through their local communication channels. Teaching staff are also encouraged to allocate time in class for eligible students to complete the survey.
Resources to promote the survey
The Australian Government developed the Student Experience Survey as one of many initiatives to deliver ongoing improvement in learning and teaching across Australian universities. The survey gathers information on five facets of the learning experience of first and final-year undergraduate students and all postgraduate students:
The survey results provide us with valuable feedback and insights to help inform our ongoing work to improve the educational experience of students. Find out more about the survey and previous results on the Course Surveys page.
This year, the survey is open for eligible students to complete from Tuesday 9 September to Sunday 12 October.
Leading up to and during the period it's open, we're promoting the survey across a range of channels, including Student News, digital signage, lectern screens, social media, and the Student Portal and Sydney Uni app.
We've developed a range of creative assets for colleagues to help promote the Student Experience Survey in classes and through their local channels.

We've also developed an SES explainer slide pack (pptx, 3.2MB) to support class discussions.
