The Handbook is published annually and provides staff and students with comprehensive information about every course, including:
To complete their course and be eligible for graduation, students need to meet all the requirements for their course as set out in the Handbook.
Students, staff, and other users of the University Handbook can access the handbooks from prior years via a dedicated handbooks archive page. This page links to all previous handbooks from 2011.
Each unit listed in a handbook unit of study table is directly linked to comprehensive information to better inform students of their enrolment choices. In addition to unit descriptions and availabilities, a unit of study page includes information about unit content, learning outcomes, and detailed information on assessment tasks.
Handbook pages include direct links to the Senate resolutions published on the Senate website and faculty resolutions published on the University’s Policy Register.
Students, staff, and other handbook users can navigate seamlessly to information across the University website that is directly relevant to use of the University Handbook. This includes key dates, course planning information and the University’s glossary of key terms. They can also navigate across handbooks using the ‘breadcrumbs’ at the top of each handbook subpage and the handbook page directories.
The search feature has been developed to exclusively search for information from within the University Handbook to enable faster access to relevant information for students, staff and other handbook users.
Although the handbook search feature is consistent with the University website’s global search feature, handbook search will only work within the handbook website.
All post publication amendments are made directly on the page. This means that the handbook will always be as current as possible. We will indicate where these late changes have been made in both the page (or pages) the change applies to and in the post-publication change register page attached to the University Handbook landing page.
Some course and unit of study information is not contained in the University Handbook, such as course application deadlines, enrolment intakes and information about unit of study fees. This information can be accessed via the Sydney Courses website.
Information about support for enrolment planning and academic advising can be accessed via the Current Students website.
You can report any technical issues with the handbook website directly to the handbook project team at [email protected]. The project team will liaise directly with colleagues in ICT to resolve reported issues.
If you have questions or concerns about content included in the University Handbook, please contact the relevant faculty or University school curriculum team. The contacts for each of these teams are listed below.
