Academic model

The Division of the Academic Registrar Academic Model (AMT) team is responsible for building, modifying and maintaining data for courses and units of study information in Sydney Student. The course information managed by AMT facilitates student enrolment and unit of study selection and is also published on Sydney Courses and used by other University systems.

Course information includes records relating to:

  • Courses – base level course records, and related records for intakes, marketing, publishing, course transfers, awards and progression
  • Routes – a stream or specialisation that is available for admission
  • Pathways – a variable course component e.g. major, minor, program, specialisation or teaching area
  • Diets – collections of units of study and course or course component rules. Students are guided by their diets to enrol into their units of study.
  • Unit of study collections – groups of units
  • Units of study.

What’s our role?

  • Maintain course information in Sydney Student to deliver the best possible student experience.
  • Provide consultation advice relating to curriculum proposals and amendments.
  • Enter new and modify existing course records as approved by the Academic Board or delegated authority, in consultation with faculties and schools.
  • Facilitate an annual review of units of study and unit of study collections by faculties and schools.
